Summer Serenade Shift

Hello, Everyone! This is my first piece for Project Run + Play, so, yeah, I should divulge that I am super excited. With summer quickly fading, I thought there would be no better item to sew than a frilly little frock for the bias challenge.
This little number was a last hurrah for summer- a sweet and sunny shift that has bias strip ruffles moving down the bodice and along the hemline. The bias strips are Nani Iro gauze, a saffron tencel makes up the skirt, and there is a zipper closure in the back.
I will also admit that the bias challenge really was a challenge for me- it took me a while to incorporate bias ruffles without moving too far away from my style.
Voting is happening over at Project Run + Play this weekend- check it out and then enjoy these last  summery days until next year!

this is a beautiful, breezy dress with great drape that seems perfect for play (school) or formal wear (to a wedding). You really did a great job of capturing a summer serenade in this dress. Great job!!

This is so gorgeous. Perfect pictures, love the feel of the lighting, and definitely the best fitting garment. And Nan Iro? Swoon.
