Continuing the kids clothes week challenge, I thought I might make a garment that we will be needing for the winter, styled so that the kids could swap it. If you were to just look at my sewing posts you probably wouldn't be aware that I have a son, as I very rarely sew things for him. I am not sure why- but boy clothes do seem to be a little more intimidating to me.
I picked up this soft orange wool at an estate sale, and its incredible feel makes me wonder if it was a really nice wool (most I have felt were itchy or stiff) or if it was just softened by age. It was a steal at $2 for 3 yards, and the lining was a couple pillow cases. Ori liked the coat until we stepped outside to take pictures with porch lighting. It was seriously humid, and I don't blame him for looking a little annoyed.
Phia, on the other hand, was more than willing to work her charm.

This is a wonderful idea. Make clothes that both a boy and girl can wear. And make them perfectly adorable at that! I wanted to let you know that I included this on my link love today!
