bed sets for big girls

i sometimes forget how much i enjoy how quick the process of making pillow covers is. i love the feeling of accomplishment after completing a quilt, but it does take a fair amount of care, planning, and when it comes to the task of quilting the layers together it takes a lot of muscle. needless to say, some aspects of creating a quilt become pretty monotonous. pillow covers are like your favorite quilt block, made with a fraction of the effort. 

this one in particular was made for my friend's daughter, who just so happens to be one of phia's best friends. it matches the twin sized quilt i have been working on for months (and hope to finish very, very soon), and was made to celebrate her move to a big girl bed.
