from kauai

the past week i spent my time either taking care of phia and ori, or baking for my father-in-law's 60th birthday party. it was a fun yet emotional event for a really amazing guy, and i feel honored to have been a part of it. but, with around 200 guests, danny and i had our work cut out for us. it was an arduous task to finish the spread of desserts (including but not limited to pecan squares, a fifty pound birthday cake, carrot cake, mignardise, and the best seller, key lime squares) but we made it, and six hours after the party ended, our vacation began.
the plane ride here was an adventure on its own, but there is something about the aloha spirit that makes you forget all about the stress left back in new jersey.
