Summer is on its way

You know how I can tell? My good old seasonal allergies have shown up in full force this past week, and have decided I will not escape this spring unscathed. 

I guess I have one thing I can thank my bout of hay fever for: being unable to sleep from uncontrollable night sneezing, I woke up at the crack of dawn and had a little bit of free time to take these pictures of a new quilt I finished up this week. 

I have been saving fabrics up for a quilt intended for 4th of July barbeques for sometime now. My possible inspirations to finally complete one: watching Yankee games with the husband, the smell of neighbors grilling, and another reason to enjoy PBS.
